Employee Engagement

A corporate partnership with the Red Cross offers unique opportunities to meet your business objectives and build an association with one of the most relevant and respected humanitarian non-profit organizations in the world. We strive to make corporate partnerships mutually beneficial by connecting your philanthropic goals and interests with our services, education, outreach, and relief efforts both in the community and worldwide. We recognize your partnership through a marketing strategy that matches your interests in partnering with our unparalleled brand.
  • Preparedness Presentations - The American Red Cross offers emergency preparedness presentations that can be scheduled for any type of organization including businesses, schools, faith-based organizations, government entities, neighborhood associations and non-profits. http://www.redcross.org/or/portland/preparedness/schedule-a-red-cross-presentation Our goal is to help you and your employees to get trained for at work or at home, so that safety and continuity is prepared for in advance of any disaster. We offer this service at your location, at no cost.
  • Citizen CPR - We all know that CPR saves lives, but did you know that CPR has been made simpler? With the Citizen CPR technique, you only use your hands. No mouth-to-mouth contact is involved. Learning this new technique provides a high-energy activity that can take as little as 30 minutes and works to make everyone in your workplace and community safer.
  • OSHA CPR/AED and First Aid training – Sudden cardiac arrest is still the leading cause of death in the United States, and one of the most likely causes of death in most work environments. Our training empowers everyday colleagues to save lives.
  • Preparedness kit building - Disasters can strike suddenly, at anytime and anywhere but having a kit is one of the simplest ways to ensure you have the items needed if a disaster does occur, when time is of the essence. By hosting a Kit Build, employees learn about preparedness and build their own kits, better preparing your employees in the workplace and their families in your community.
  • Company blood drives - Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood, and there’s only one source—generous blood donors. When you sponsor an on-site blood drive, you provide your employees with that irreplaceable sense that they are helping save lives.
  • Blood kitting - Gather your employees to assemble materials to use in mobile blood drives. Employees can learn about how blood is processed, tested, and stored. They will also have the opportunity to tour the facility, and make a blood donation.
  • Smoke alarm installations – Our Home Fire Safety Campaign offers one-day volunteer opportunities to canvass neighborhoods with a high incidence of house fires and injuries, where they will install smoke alarms as part of our nationwide effort to reduce house fire death and injury by 25% over the next five years.
  • Holiday Mail for Heroes – Show your support for military heroes during the holiday season. Through our Holiday Mail for Heroes program, your employees can sign greeting cards with messages of appreciation. The Red Cross will deliver each of these heartfelt expressions to service members, veterans and their families around the world.

Workplace Giving/Employee Donation Campaign

The Red Cross relies upon the generosity of donors to carry out its daily mission in our community and worldwide. Our employee engagement activities are a great way to invigorate your company’s annual campaign and to build awareness of the Red Cross mission locally and worldwide. We can also set up a co-branded website or microsite to support the logistics of your campaign (http://www.redcross.org/cm/corpdemo-emp). Match your employees’ donations to make an even bigger difference and to show support of their efforts and giving.

Ready 365 Program

Everyone knows that the Red Cross responds to national disasters, but you may not know that the Red Cross actively delivers services in the Cascades Region 365 days a year. Every day in our region, the Red Cross responds to home fires with immediate assistance and material needs, delivers emergency communications to and from armed service members deployed overseas, educates people of all ages on disaster preparedness, certifies people in life-saving CPR and First Aid skills, and gathers life-saving blood for our hospitals. Ready 365 is a corporate sponsorship program that rewards your company for its annual support of our mission with public recognition, special employee engagement opportunities, and co-branding/cause marketing opportunities to show your philanthropic giving through every day product and service sales.

In-Kind Giving

Your company may be able to provide a product or service that helps deliver our mission. In-kind giving contributes to the financial health of the Red Cross by reducing the costs we incur in the course of delivering our mission. Your company may be able to help us address a range of critical needs, from canteen items for our blood drives, to automobiles for our fleet, to creative services that help spread our message. Furthermore, your in-kind contributions may qualify the same recognition benefits as a cash donation or sponsorship. To learn more about these opportunities, contact Tristen.Ross@redcross.org

Full Circle Partnerships

Red Cross Full Circle Partners are our MVPs in the corporate community. These corporate partners 1) support us financially, 2) prepare their employees for disasters through our Disaster Cycle Services workshops 3) prepare their staff to save a life through our CPR and First Aid training courses, and 4) hold company blood drives or serve on a Red Cross board where blood drives are unavailable. Full Circle Partners are an extension of our mission and serve as an example that we encourage others to follow. We honor our partners throughout the year by placing their logos on our website and recognize them before our staff, volunteers and key partners every year at our annual meetings. The full partnership in the Red Cross is the number #1 way to fully support your employees, the community, and our mission to alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies.
