OSSC is a statewide, individual placement model AmeriCorps program. OSSC is administered by and housed at the Cascades Regional office of the American Red Cross. Fifty-seven full-time and six part-time AmeriCorps members serve individually or in small teams at non-profit organizations, government agencies and schools throughout Oregon.
Through direct service and volunteer mobilization, OSSC AmeriCorps members address significant community needs in the areas of disaster preparedness, education, public health, human needs and volunteer coordination. Oregon State Service Corps offers full-time placements lasting from September through July. All OSSC members receive training in first aid and CPR.
