The Hanover-Adams Chapter of the American Red Cross, which is part of the 22-county Central Pennsylvania Region, serves more than 117,000 people in the greater Hanover area and Adams County.
With more than 101 volunteers, our chapter is able to respond to an average of 21 disasters, mostly single home fires, teach CPR to more than 1,920 community members, provide services to more than 37 military members, and collect over 4,918 pints of blood each year!
The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.
We are guided by seven fundamental principles: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality.
The Red Cross provides food and shelter in emergencies, assists members of our armed forces and their families, teaches lifesaving CPR and First Aid skills, and more. All American Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the American people.
The American Red Cross is not a government agency and it relies on the generosity of the people of Central Pennsylvania to fulfill its mission to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies.
