We are there whether it’s a single-family house fire, a multi-unit apartment fire or a flood...

Residents in the Scranton area count on the Red Cross to help them when disaster strikes. We are there whether it’s a single-family house fire, a multi-unit apartment fire or a flood, we provide shelter, food, and emotional health first aid to meet basic human needs and help Scranton residents resume their normal daily activities independently.

Last fiscal year we helped 176 residents who were affected by 157 disasters in the Scranton area.

We also feed emergency workers like fire fighters and police during prolonged emergencies.

It is through the support of donors that our Chapter is able to fulfill its humanitarian mission. We are deeply grateful for the generosity of individuals, corporations and foundations who invest in the American Red Cross of Lackawanna County.
