The American Red Cross in Your Own Community
The American Red Cross Crossville Office serves Bledsoe, Cumberland, Fentress, Morgan and Scott counties, in cities including Crossville, Jamestown, Pikeville, Oneida, Huntsville, Wartburg, and many of the county’s unincorporated communities.
History:
Since 1917, the American Red Cross in Crossville has carried out is mission to the local community, as well as providing volunteers for many national disaster responses. The community recalls the service the Red Cross provided in 2012 when a deadly tornado tore through the Rennie community. About 40 families received Red Cross services such as shelter, food, clothing, comfort items and emotional support.
Every year in the region, about 70 families rely on Red Cross services following a disaster like a home fire, flood or tornado.
The American Red Cross continues to be the area’s premier emergency response organization. As part of a worldwide movement that offers neutral humanitarian care to the victims of war, the American Red Cross distinguishes itself by also aiding victims of devastating natural disasters.
