When a family flees a burning home with nothing but their lives
…the Red Cross is there.
The members of the Disaster Partners program enable your local Red Cross to respond immediately to the needs of the individuals and families impacted by disaster through annual financial donations. No matter a hurricane, wildfire, house fire or tornado, the American Red Cross provides immediate basic needs for shelter, food, clothing, medications, emotional support and health services. All Disaster Relief is free to these victims because of the generosity of our donors.
In addition to providing local service, the American Red Cross trains a cadre of disaster relief teams. Whether responding to assist first-responders at a house fire, training alongside emergency management teams or those who deploy at a moment’s notice for national disasters such as Joplin tornado, Hurricane Irene, Texas Wildfires, Midwest flooding and more, these local and national deployments make our communities stronger as they bring back “hands-on” experience.
When a tornado demolishes a neighborhood and victims seek shelter
…the Red Cross is there.
Donations from the Disaster Partner members offset a range of expenses including warehousing, supplies, shelter and feeding costs, maintaining and deploying our fleet of disaster response vehicles and reconnecting individuals separated during disasters. Disaster Partners are recognized as community, civic and philanthropic-minded individuals, businesses or organizations.
The American Red Cross responds to more than 70,000 disaster every year. In Wisconsin, our Disaster Partners members are valued Red Cross donors. They receive a high level of recognition and access to Red Cross information and leadership. They truly are leaders when it comes to disaster response.
