Building Your Own Web site--Develop a "web presence" for your chapter or Blood Region
American Red Cross has provided to the chapters and Blood Regions templates for helping you set up your Web site. These templates are designed to help chapters and Blood Regions follow the brand image of the American Red Cross. Chapter and Blood Region Web sites will be able to maintain their individuality by allowing for original content to be added by local web developers.
Templates
The chapter templates are split up into four different levels. Each of these reflect a different level hierarchy designed for easy navigation. You will notice the left-hand navigation is open for modification and the donate section has been included for sites that do not have online donation capabilities. This area is where we suggest you place your links to different areas of your site. The Blood Region templates will also have the same navigation on the left-hand side.
Each of the levels should represent how the site is built and maintained. When a viewer comes to the site by way of a search engine, there is a possibility that they will enter your site on a page that is not your homepage. By providing some navigation on your site that is easily understandable, the viewer is less likely to leave and may click through the site to find the information they are seeking.
Lockups
The American Red Cross has also provided Unit Name Lockups and Blood Region Lockups for use on your site. The lockups are the American Red Cross logo accompanied by the specific unit's name branded to the image.
Logos
The logos can be found at http://www.redcross.org/logos/sigs.html.We ask that you use these logos and remove any logos branded with the following: "Help Can't Wait" or "Together we prepare."
If you have any questions about the unit name lockups please contact National Headquarters at BrandID@usa.redcross.org.
