December 2019
THE ELIZABETH DOLE FOUNDATION, ARIZONA HIDDEN HEROES IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ABILITY360 Presents Military Caregivers Connect a monthly opportunity for military caregivers of all eras to meet, talk, and support each other. Meets on the third Tuesday of the month.
January 2020
This webinar is part 1 of 2 on Family Systems. Families are changing in response to large global trends. Military families are experiencing the same transitions which may be compounded by military service.
About 40% of American adults have obesity, and if the current trend continues, is expected to increase to more than half of the adult population by 2030. Specifically, 7.7% had severe obesity, a body mass index of 40 kg/m2 or greater, in 2015-2016.
This webinar is part 2 of 2 on Family Systems. This practical webinar will investigate how the Military Family Readiness System can strengthen diverse families with a focus on co-parenting knowledge and skills.
February 2020
This 90 minute webinar will begin by discussing the basics of Long Term Care insurance options with Dr. Michael Gutter. The second half of the webinar will be presented by Mr. Kevin Friel of the VA Aid & Assistance office and will cover the long term care support programs available to Veterans.
We are faced with a constant churn of nutrition trends and fad diets. The more sensational the claims, the more quickly they spread. Even if you don’t work in the field of weight management, you are likely asked for your thoughts on the latest trends from family and friends.
March 2020
Speakers from the VA Home and Community Base Programs and Specially Adapted Housing offices will speak about the programs the VA offers to veterans who need assisted living, in-home care, or adaptations to their homes to meet their health care needs.
According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), lack of sleep can lead to major health issues, and the link between sleep deprivation and chronic disease has grown significantly. Additionally, studies have shown that getting fewer than eight hours asleep puts military personnel at risk for poor performance and decreased cognition.
