Joseph Golanka serves as the Regional Director of Service to the Armed Forces (SAF) for the Desert to the Sea Region. Under Joe’s leadership and direction, the local Service to the Armed Forces provides Red Cross services to active duty military members, veterans and their families throughout Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.
Joe has previously represented the region on several national levels and created a unique program for Veterans employed by the American Red Cross called “Veterans+” (Veterans Plus), a platform for veterans, military families, spouses, and friends to come together as a resource for one another and the organization.
Joe served in the United States Marine Corps for 12 years, both active duty and reserve. His leadership responsibilities included the combat readiness and tactical support of an Infantry Battalion. He also served in a variety of combat leadership positions both on active duty and reserve.
Prior to joining the American Red Cross, Joe spent 20 years in the healthcare and communication industries, working for Johnson and Johnson, Abbott Laboratories, Sprint and AT&T.
Joe’s non-profit service includes positions with the American Red Cross, Travis Manion Foundation and the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program.
A graduate of Niagara University, he earned a degree in Political Science and Business.
