The western division of the Circle K convenience store chain donated more than $112,000 in proceeds raised during their Drive for Pride Golf Tournament to the American Red Cross Desert to the Sea Region, serving Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. The American Red Cross and Circle K West’s partnership is almost ten years strong and has created more resilient communities through preparedness initiatives, disaster response and recovery efforts and more.
This year’s Drive for Pride Golf Tournament was a two-day event on August 21 and 22 consisting of a silent auction and reception and a golf tournament the next morning. Silent auction attendees placed bids on a wide variety of exciting packages and auction items. The most unique item of the auction was a dinner with Circle K's Lisa Geyer, Vice President of West Coast Business Unit, and Dan Dobson, Director of Marketing for the West Coast Region. In total, the silent auction brought in over $10,000.
The Drive for Pride Golf Tournament was held the next morning at the San Juan Hills Golf Club. Almost 80 participants of all skill levels golfed together and visited sponsor booths including Coca-Cola, Pepsi and Rockstar, among many others. Attendees could also enter a raffle with more than thirty generously donated prizes. After the tournament, Circle K West presented the local Red Cross with a check for $112,005.
“The longstanding partnership between Circle K West and the American Red Cross continues to benefit our community year after year,” said Lois Beckman, Executive Director of the American Red Cross serving Riverside County. “Circle K’s incredible support funds local Red Cross services and allows us to prepare for and respond to disasters in our community and across the nation.”
Circle K’s support reinforces their longstanding commitment to the American Red Cross Desert to the Sea Region and the communities it serves. The Red Cross is thankful to Circle K, their vendors and sponsors for their contributions to help build a more resilient region and create safer, stronger communities.
