Wildfires often begin unnoticed and they spread quickly, igniting brush, trees, and homes. In a wildfire, every second counts! This weekend, we challenge you to create a Family Disaster Plan in just 3 simple steps:
Post a picture of you and your household creating your Family Disaster Plan on social media and include #BASHBCC and #PrepareCalGC for a chance to win a prize from the CA Gold Country Region of the American Red Cross.
Winners and prizes will be announced during our virtual event on May 22nd!

If your clothes catch on fire:
THEN: Once the flames are out, cool the burned skin with water for three to five minutes. Call for medical attention.
Protecting yourself at home is only the first step. Does your workplace or organization have an emergency plan? How prepared would you be if your business suddenly were to be hit by a natural disaster? The first step in preparing for the unexpected is to assess your risk. The American Red Cross offers a free service through its Ready Rating program.

Register on the American Red Cross Safe and Well website to let your family and friends know you are safe after a disaster. You may also call 1-866-GET-INFO to register yourself and your family.
