Every Tuesday and Thursday (y los miércoles en español), the American Red Cross Los Angeles Region is offering free preparedness education classes designed to help you understand, prepare for and respond appropriately to disasters big and small.
11 a.m. | Be Red Cross Ready COVID-19 Presentation (Ages 14+)
Trained Red Cross subject matter experts present basic preparedness information including how to make or build a preparedness kit, make an emergency plan with your family and learn what to do before, during and after disasters of all kinds, including the COVID-19 pandemic. Also available at 3:30 p.m.
1 p.m. | Pillowcase Project (Grades 3-5)
This one-hour interactive program for students in grades 3-5 will teach children what to do in the event of a fire or earthquake, coping skills for stressful situations and general preparedness information.
2:30 p.m. | Prepare with Pedro (Grades K-2)
Prepare with Pedro will provide an introduction for students in grades K-2 to the concept of emergency preparedness in a fun and educational way. Using storytelling and hands-on activities, students will build muscle memory and basic coping skills.
3:30 p.m. | Be Red Cross Ready COVID-19 Presentation (Ages 14+)
Trained Red Cross subject matter experts present basic preparedness information including how to make or build a preparedness kit, make an emergency plan with your family and learn what to do before, during and after disasters of all kinds, including the COVID-19 pandemic. Also available at 11:00 a.m.
