- Certificate of Merit -- For Red Cross trained individuals and off- duty professional responders; signed by the President of the United States
- Lifesaving Award for Professional Responders -- For Red Cross trained professional responders and healthcare professionals acting while on-duty
- Certificate of Extraordinary Personal Action -- For individuals and teams who are not Red Cross trained
Please help us congratulate these heroes for saving or sustaining a life (recognition period Fiscal Year 2022).
Certificate of Extraordinary Personal Action presented September 17, 2021
On April 8, 2021, Damian helped to save the life of an individual who fell unconscious in a parking lot in Melbourne, Florida. Damian was in the lobby of his hotel when he exited toward the parking lot to find a person behind the wheel of an automobile in distress. Damian took control of the situation and advised the gentleman’s spouse to call 9-1-1. Damian ran to his car to grab his AED, returned to the gentleman and began to set up. The AED analyzed and advised a shock when it was needed. Damian reassessed the gentleman and continued performing CPR until EMS arrived on the scene.
If someone you know has used skills and knowledge that embody the principles of American Red Cross Training Services courses to help save or sustain the life of another individual, nominate at LifesavingAwards.org.
