Hurricane Dorian - Red Cross Response in Central Florida

The American Red Cross continues to support residents as they clean up after Hurricane Dorian swept through the East Coast. Red Cross volunteers are coordinating with partners to complete damage assessments in the most impacted areas. The American Red Cross Disaster responders are also supporting cleanup efforts by providing warm meals and relief supplies. Our volunteer mental health and health services professionals are helping to support and care for people coping with days of uncertainty and anxiety.
What We've Done So Far:
3,000 Red Cross disaster responders from across the country have worked with kindness and compassion to support people in threatened communities across Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina.
To date*, the American Red Cross and our community partners have provided over 38,300 overnight stays in evacuation shelters
With the help of our partners, the Red Cross has served more than 165,300 meals and snacks.
Volunteer mental health and health services professionals have provided 12,200 contacts for support and care for those affected by Hurricane Dorian.
19,800 relief supplies have been distributed.
More than 32.5 million weather alerts related to Dorian have been sent through Red Cross mobile apps since August 28.
