Raymond “Ray” Gies and Lilyan Jarmer make up a volunteer team that have been active with the American Red Cross for more than seven years. They currently serve as an Emergency Response Vehicle-driving super team, ready to drop everything and deploy at a moment’s notice -- whether it is across the county or across the country.
Last summer, Ray and Lilyan deployed back-to-back to drive the ERVs in South Carolina and California. More recently, they were involved in the Ellicott City flooding response.
Ray and Lilyan also work well together at Community Outreach and Recruitment tables and have been instrumental in recruiting several new volunteers in recent months. They are always willing to lend a hand for anything that is needed.
