In 2000, measles was a leading cause of vaccine-preventable death among children. The American Red Cross has helped improve these odds. As a member of the Measles & Rubella Initiative—a global partnership committed to ensuring no child dies from measles—we have led efforts to vaccinate more than 2 billion children in more than 88 countries against this deadly disease since 2001. Help the American Red Cross Long Island Chapter vaccinate 20,000 children on November 15th. For just $1, the Measles & Rubella Initiative can vaccinate a child and protect him or her for life against this deadly disease.
