At the American Red Cross, we have the privilege of hearing about remarkable deeds carried out in our community by everyday heroes. These stories are inspirational and remind us to never doubt the impact a single individual can make. In celebration of the heroes who walk among us, the Red Cross of Oklahoma is proud to host our 2020 Heroes Receptions in Tulsa and Oklahoma City.

The Everyday Heroes Reception celebrates extraordinary individuals who have made a personal commitment to creating safer and stronger communities. After a community-wide nomination process, awards will be made to Northeast Oklahoma’s finest heroes in the following categories:
Youth Award
Firefighter Award
Good Samaritan Award
Youth Award: The Youth Award is presented to an outstanding individual who is 17 years or under and has performed an act of heroism involving an unusual, significant or unexpected incident, or is involved in an ongoing situation in which a commitment is made to the community through acts of kindness, courage, or unselfishness in response to an identified need.
Firefighter Award: The Firefighter award is presented to a professional or volunteer firefighter, or medical personnel relate to dispatch operations at a fire department who acted above and beyond the call of duty, exhibiting heroism either in response to an emergency, or through an ongoing commitment to the community.
Good Samaritan Award: The Good Samaritan Award is presented to an outstanding individual who courageously and selflessly responded to an unusual, significant, or unexpected crisis.
