Home fires claim seven lives every day, but you can help change that. Join the American Red Cross during a local Sound the Alarm event. No prior experience is necessary; we’ll provide all the training you’ll need.
Join us as we partner with the Dumas Fire Department, Dumas campus of Amarillo College student organizations, Dumas Meals on Wheels, City of Dumas, Lions Club, Rotary Club and Dumas ISD to serve the community of Dumas. We will be installing free smoke alarms in homes in need on October 5th.
We will "get the word out" by distributing flyers door to door in neighborhoods on the North Side on Saturday, September 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Residents can choose to schedule an appointment with the Red Cross. On October 5, from 10 p.m. to 4 p.m., we will return to homes that have requested assistance to install alarms.
Register for both events or choose the date that works for you! On October 5, the Red Cross will provide a meal to all volunteers. Wear comfortable clothing and come ready to serve Dumas, as together, we make homes safer!
