The American Red Cross West Virginia responded to homes damaged in multiple counties throughout West Virginia. The Red Cross provided safe shelter, food, emergency relief supplies, emotional support and recovery assistance to families impacted.
This was a difficult time for many families unexpectedly forced from their homes – and Red Cross disaster mental health workers helped people cope. Health workers helped to replace needed items like prescription medications and eyeglasses.
As the flooding receded and roads became passible, Red Cross teams assessed the damage to homes, and passed out cleaning supplies, toiletries, meals, snacks and water.
