Rated 5 out of 5 by from Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED 7/17/17 Me and my team had to take this course for our job and we absolutely loved it. The online not too much and it was very annoying although I understood that the purpose was to imbed it into you thought process. Now, the instructional portion was one to remember. Instructor Sinil, was simply awesome. I have never had anyone make this course as interesting and fun then this gentle here. His interaction toward the class, his timeframe, his knowledge base is one that you can notvteach. Thank you for the opportunity to grow and have a better chance to save a life. When it becomes times for me to renew I will be searching for his class as my instructor again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Blended Course Available I really appreciated the blended course format since the CPR courses I have taken in the past are six hours. The videos helped make learning the material and content more enjoyable and memorable. I would suggest including more information about pediatric First Aid. As an early childhood educator, I did not receive as much information about caring for children in an emergency situation (i.e. what to do if there is a twig sticking out of a child's eye) as past courses have provided. Some more information similar to this example would be helpful. The instructor was willing to help students in the class and made everyone feel comfortable and welcome.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wasted Time The classroom portion was supposed to get started at 9am, but did not get started until 10am. It was late due to technical issues, that the staff was aware of before the class started but didn't worry about resolving until 9am. I was also under the impression that the classroom portion was supposed to be mostly hands-on, but instead we watched most of the same videos that we had to watch for the online portion. Also, since the class was an hour late getting started, it ran an hour over the end time, making me an hour late to work. So, I was an hour late to work, to watch videos that I had already watch online for the course.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fine I have never been trained in First Aid, CPR, or AED before. The instructor was very cold, didn't even introduce themselves at the start. The online part was okay, but I felt like some info was lacking, and if you didn't have the mouse exactly right I had to start over. I expected more information on handling first aid situations (like judging the severity of a situation, handling non-life threatening cases, etc.). I didn't know exactly what to expect, and I did walk away feeling pretty confident about handling situations in need of an AED or CPR. Knowing what I know now, I would have been just as satisfied without the official certification piece.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Online training very good/in-person component bad The online portion, while difficult to comprehend at first, was helpful in practicing procedures. I signed up for the combination online/in-person training. The in-person component was a disaster. The trainer gave conflicting, contradictory instructions. If you asked any question, she would just answer "no", regardless of what you were asking, offering no clarification! She saw any question or request for clarification as a personal affront and would not answer questions. I think the headquarters should be able to find a trainer with better personal and communication skills than the one we were subjected to.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very dissatisfied I have taken many instructor coursed in my career and this has to be one the worst. I have never left a course unable to instruct. We did not receive anything to conduct a class. No instructors booklet, CD, power point nothing. What we did get was the knowledge that we were the first class that the Red Cross no longer gave instructor back packs to. Even though we paid the same price as previous classes. I now have to spend additional monies to obtain the information I need to conduct classes. I could care less about a back pack but at the very least we should have received the CD.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Course That Everyone Should Take This was blended course (on-line and classroom) that really taught me a great deal even though I had taken CPR and First Aid previously in years past. The instructor was engaging, patient and respectful of our time commitment. The on-site class was very informative and there was never a rush - questions were answered throughout the morning session. Our instructor was highly knowledgeable and his sense of humor was a great addition to the course. He presented real life scenarios that placed what we had learned into situations we might encounter. I highly recommend this course for anyone who will 'do the work' on-line and is prepared to commit to the classroom portion.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The computer aspect of this was a nightmare!!!!!! It took me over 7 hours to attempt to complete the computer section of this course. I eventually had to call the Red Cross 4 times before anyone would listen o my complaint and attempt to assist me. I still do not know why it was not working properly, but when I attended my in class session there were multiple other people who had similar problems. I have been CPR/First Aid/AED trained for 13 years and retake the course every two years. It was insane that I had to spend an entirety of 8 hours on the phone and computer trying to complete a course I have taken 5 or six times previously. I really hope the Red Cross does away with this computer program or I will be looking elsewhere for my next CPR class.
