Certification

Red Cross courses offer Digital Certification, an online version of a Red Cross certificate, which provides anytime, anywhere access to student training history and course certificates. Digital certificates can be viewed, printed or shared online and can be accessed anytime through your Red Cross Account. Each certificate includes a unique ID and a QR code which meets employment requirements and allows employers to easily confirm your certificate is valid. There is no need to carry your printed certificate around anymore!

CEUs

The American Red Cross provides Continuing Education Units (CEUs) at no cost for certain classes taken by individuals who have requirements to maintain a professional license or certification.

The American Red Cross is an approved as an Accredited Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET).

Courses eligible for CEUs will have the CEUs awarded and contact hours printed on the lower, left hand corner of the 8½ X 11” digital certificate. Digital certificates may be accessed at www.redcross.org/take-a-class/digital-certificate.

Course participants should consult with their respective licensing/accrediting agencies to make sure IACET CEUs meet their continuing education requirements.

Please note:
  • Challenge courses are not eligible for CEUs.
  • A course is not eligible for CEUs if “0” CEUs awarded and “0” contact hours appear on a digital certificate.
  • The IACET standard is that 10 contact hours equals 1 CEU. For example, the Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers course is 4.5 contact hours or 0.5 CEUs. However, some licensing/accreditation organizations may have a standard that 1 contact hour equals 1 CEU. Customers should check with their licensing/accreditation organizations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great content! I bought this class with my husband and we are so glad we did, originally taking this class so I can get my fitness certificate but after the class I am really happy about what I learned and feel more confident because now I am knowledgeable and know what to do when there’s any situation happened.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Adult and Pediatric First Aid/ CPR/AED #1. The condition of the set up was horrible. To view important information and instruction on a television! Difficult to see. I actually had to stand up and face the screen to see the information. #2. No student handbook available taking notes was needed. Too much information to write. #3. Other classmates I know went outside of Red Cross and were given student handbooks and paid less than $130. #4. I know not instructor's fault.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Adult and Pediatric 1st Aid/CPR/AED Class Review The course was good but we went pretty quickly through the material. I had taken the on-line course previously which helped me learn most of the material beforehand. If I hadn't done that, I'm not sure how well I would learn the information from the quick in-class coverage. The hands on experience of CPR during this class was very helpful. It helped to get the rhythm down and the technique for both CPR and breathing.
