Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use and extremely beneficial I was able to finish this class over the course of 2 nights. I took the in-class course in high school and I found this online course much more helpful. The hands-on part of the in-class course is definitely necessary for people seeking their original certification; but this class is perfect for recertification. You are able to take as much time as necessary in each module until you feel comfortable with the skill. I used my MacBook Pro with Adobe Flash Player and it worked smoothly. After completion, you DO receive a certificate of completion (I was unsure that I would when I first purchased the class).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful convenience! Having recent knee replacement - I could NOT do the CPR part on the floor in a class environment. Great class and a great convenience to be able to take this course without leaving home. I'm glad I have an emergency medical first aid background because much of the information was a "refresher" type experience for me. It would have been a lot to absorb without prior knowledge. I DID have a difficult time matching my compressions with the virtual situation so I think that part could use some fine tuning. Sometimes the instructor went a little fast for someone taking notes. I will do my re certification online from now on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent experience! My husband and I needed to renew our certification for our adoption home study. We each downloaded the course to do together on our computers at home. We liked the format of earning stars and the graphics were great. It took longer than expected - 5 hours instead of the 2 hours and 45 minutes suggested. This was still less than the 8 hours to go in person. We both felt that the simulation helped us learn more than the in person classes we attended in the past because it made us choose the proper steps and gave us immediate feedback. The tiered levels were also great because we got less help and had to remember the steps. We got to print the certificates after we finished the course and they were accepted by our agency. This was very well put together!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Glitches and issues Throughout the whole program, missions wouldn’t load or would freeze. Upon completion the certificate would not print. I had to keep checking and it kept saying incomplete. I had to redo the last mission twice to be able to finish. Even though the opened program said all missions completed. The redcross website kept saying wrong password and email and took many attempts to figure out. Very stressful after the end of doing four hours of missions. I don’t understand how the website can have so many issues loading, errors for login in and printing the certificate.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good content, terrible technology. The first aid and CPR information was great, and the training scenarios very helpful. But technology-wise, the experience was miserable. I'm tech-savvy (I actually have a computer science degree), but still spent *hours* getting this to work right. Had to try multiple browsers and Flash plugins. Eventually was able to start the training on Chrome, only to find it didn't save progress. Frustratingly, was not able to start the training over with Chrome, but instead had to switch to Opera. From this experience, I'd recommend trying to complete in one sitting if you can!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from More about mouse skills than real skills I have taken Health Professional CPR/AED courses for 30 years. This was by far my worst experience. There were issues with Flash incompatibility, even though I already had the latest version installed. I had to do several scenarios 4 to 6 times due to technical difficulties. For example, I would click my mouse 30 times for chest compressions, but the software registered as low as 28 clicks or as high as 32 clicks. I even had my teenager come over and try using the mouse 30 times, with the same unusual results. Placing the hands in the middle of the chest was impossible, as the software required me to place them high close to the collar bones and then self-adjusted the hands into the correct position.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Highly Regret Taking Here I have taken an online CPR course before and had no issues. It was simple and quick. This program took forever. It was so long and there was no way to skip forward if you felt comfortable with the material. It ended up taking me 2 days working on it for several hours per day. Once I was done the Red Cross never sent my certificate. I had to contact customer service twice before receiving the certificate. Overall was a horrible experience.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fun way to learn, but horrible design It was an interesting, fun, informative way to learn the methods. The final exam was atrocious: it wanted answers that were too specific, and it gave no feedback. For a class that was supposed to take a little more than two hours, it took me almost 7. The holdup was the final exam. This needs to be reworked, if it will be effective.
