Rated 2 out of 5 by from Complaint I was certified in a Red Cross Classroom with an instructor about 10 years ago.  My certification expired after 2 years.  A few days ago, I paid $25 to take the Red Cross on-line course thinking I could renew or get new certification.  I spent more than 4 hours take the courses (all three levels).  The on-line courses where better than the classroom version.  However, after completing the on-line Red Cross courses, I received nothing.  No certification, no recertification, no certificate of completion...nothing.  The on-line courses were awesome, but the Red Cross basically told me they were no good for certification.  I spent 4 hours for nothing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needs work This took me 3 or 4 hours to complete because 1st the screen froze up on me and I don't know if this was your website or my laptop but took me quite a while to get back on so I ended up having to use my phone for the whole thing - very difficult considering it's a top of the line phone but still a small screen... then it took 20 to 30 minutes for me to get my certificate and I didn't even know if it had gone through or not although it said I completed all the missions - then I called customer service number that was on the website and ended up getting hung up on after following all the prompts - everything needs a little work guys

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth time or money Purchased online trainings for adult CPR, and First Aide. It said class would take approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes. Class took approximately 3.5 hours, because training would not load, or page would kick me out and I would have to restart the lesson extremely frustrating. Tried on three different computers, and three different internet providers, all the same result. Finally, after completing the entire lesson a certificate wouldn't come up. Had to call into red cross. Wasted another 38 minutes on hold and talking to individuals who could not help me. Finally, was able to get a certificate, nearly 4 hours later. Waste of time and money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for renewing certification This was a wonderful option for re-certifying. I am a scout leader with small children and am required to be First Aid/CPR certified. However finding time to sit through a course to be re-certified AND finding childcare is a really difficult task. This was the perfect option. I could sit down and take the course after they went to bed and be reminded of the important aspects. I do NOT recommend this for a first time certification but not because it isn't thorough. Rather because I believe every person needs the hands on experience that is only possible with an in person course.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect Time Saver I was very pleased to be able to take this online course. It saved me time and helped me get a job as I did not have to wait for a class to open up. I thought the course information was good, the graphics were kinda fun, and it was quick to download and get started. That being said, I thought the test was not intuitive; ie., how to navigate through it and come up with the correct answer. I had to do it several times, not because I am stupid, but because I could not figure out the process leading to an answer- ie. no immediate, specific feedback to work with. In the long run, I still would prefer a 'hands-on' class, but this worked well for my purpose.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Misleading Class Title I searched for a CPR class due to needing a certification. When I searched for the CPR class I needed, it asked me to input by zip code to help me find a class nearby. After doing so, it lead me to the online classes. The first one that popped up is the adult first aid/CPR/AED. I thought to myself, "hey cool. For $30 I can renew my CPR." Wrong. This class states in the description that it will provide you a certificate after completion. It does not. The scenarios are nothing like the previous CPR certifications I have taken. I fear that I have now spent $30 dollars and will not be able to use this towards what I needed. I have emailed the certification department at American Red Cross. Hopefully I will hear something from them soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy and fun to learn These modules were both easy and fun to use when learning about life saving procedures for CPR / AED + First Aid. I definitely recommend this for quick reviews, exercises, and for learning for the very first time. One down fall is that in order to receive a specialized certification in the health field, the CPR / AED + First Aid certification must have an in-person performance qualification certification in order to satisfy prerequisites for the specific health field certification. Other than that, these modules are easy to follow and a handy reference tool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More informative than in person! This was a very informative and exacting course. It was repetitive at times, but only because it needed to be. There were so many unique scenarios and I learned more than I ever expected, considering I'd already been certified before. I would recommend this to anyone who has already been certified once with the practice dummies/mannequins. This course doesn't allow for that sense of actual CPR movement and feeling, but if you've had that before then I would recommend this over anything else for re-certification. Fantastic course!
