Rated 1 out of 5 by from Felt like a Cash Grab This course overall did an extremely poor job at teaching me First aid and AED skills necessary to be able to respond to a situation in the real world. Specifically I thought the instructor did a poor job at staying on topic and there seemed to be no logical order in how the material was presented. Overall the First Aid portion of the certification seemed to be glossed over. When practicing the practical application of the AED, our AED did not function properly and pads were damaged. Instructor did not do a good job at providing each pair of partners with any feedback on how they did through the process either

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Knowledgeable and easy-going instructor The course was well-organized and the instructor was very pleasant and had a good rapport with participants. My suggestion for improvement is to provide participants with some handouts regarding essential elements of the course. I believe this would provide better retention of the material. The hands-on simulations were quite helpful.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Super Knowledgeable Instructor/questionable format The Instructor for my Red Cross course was informative and really knew her material. She answered every single question. I am a retired teacher. Having a PowerPoint read to me, word for word, right after a video was shown using the exact same words, is a format I would not recommend. In today's technology world, that should never be a way to present important material. The hands on with the practice CPR and even the first aid practice was great. If the material were not read word for word the course time could have been cut in half and made the course worth the cost. I cannot recommend this course but I can highly recommend the Instructor. Again, she was great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First-Aid - CPR - AED Training I took the training course as a requirement from my employer; it's been many years since I've had any type of formal first aid training, so I was happy to comply. I opted for the classroom experience over the on-line session. The course material was easy to access on line for what all was to be covered; the classroom wasn't overcrowded & the instructor was personable, friendly and well informed as he knew the material, and was good at teaching how to apply all the techniques being taught. I will most likely continue to keep up with my certifications as they expire.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It felt like no one wanted to be there... I found the CPR/AED portion quite informative, and the practical portion was nice. The instructor did not verify that everyone actually had the proper technique. The first aid portion was incredibly brief. We watched a slide show, then moved right into the "practical" portion. This consisted of us wrapping someone else's arm with gauze. Again the instructor did not verify if anyone was able to do this correctly. For $90 I was expecting something more in-depth then what essentially boiled down to CPR/AED and probably just call 911. Unless you are required to take just this basic class and are mostly disinterested in first aid, I would not recommend this class.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okay class The class was decent, although I walked out still a bit fuzzy on what to do when I see someone lying on the street unconscious with blood pouring out of a wound. The instructor got on my nerves with his constant bragging about the exotic places he goes scuba diving and how he is politically connected in Riverdale, Illinois. Getting into the classroom was a challenge: I arrived at 9:05 AM, only 5 minutes late, and found the doors to the building locked. Two other female students were standing outside with me in the cold, making calls and trying to get in. I had to hop over a wall and bang on a window before anyone would let us in.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Highly Disappointed While this class was uninformative, I was completly unimpressed with the instructor. She was very unprofessional, demanding, rude, impatient, and condescending. Televisions were too small to see videos or read the print. No handouts, phamplets, or booklets were given to even follow along with. Technology was out of date. For the price of the course I want to be able to see what I am being shown and treated like a professional! I will NOT be returning to this location ever again! This is at least my 5th time taking this couse and I have never been so unimpressed or made to feel like an uneducated professional. This instructor "Cyndi" needs to be evaluated!!
