Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Imformative My mom decided to sign me up for this class because I expressed an interest in babysitting. She wanted to make I was prepared to take care of kids and had the proper training. She found the American Red Cross babysitting class and entrusted them in making sure I was properly prepared. I will have to say The Red Cross babysitting class really informed on everything I need to know about babysitting such as, how to pick up an infant, feed an infant, change a diaper, and what to do when a child gets injured or is choking. I would definitely recommend the American Red Cross to parents or teens looking for babysitting training. They answered an questions I had and made every lesson clear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Course We have had both of our sons attend this course so they were better prepared to help care for their younger sister along with any other children they needed to help out with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great course my daughter took this course last summer . since then she's been a steady babysitter for her niece Who is five months old . she has the confidence and the understanding of what needs to be done to go take care of a new born. so yes I think it was money well spent .

Rated 1 out of 5 by from American Red Cross: babysitters training I was disappointed to learn from my daughter that she did not get first aid or CPR certified, which I thought was part of the course. She said they went over it but did not get certified which is why I wanted her take the course in the first place. This was a very expensive course to not receive any other certification other than “babysitter training”. I will be following up with the Red Cross regarding this matter.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Babysitter training My oldest daughter took this class a few years back and learned child and infant CPR During the course. This time my other daughter did not get instructed in CPR and we were never given an explanation why. Everything she heard was common sense already taught by me so this ended up being a waste of my time and money.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good content, poor delivery. There were two instructors. The first seemed experienced, but could have given more descriptions of the content without way too often referring to his ex-wife. The second was extremely difficult to understand, routinely asking us to read bullet points out loud and then re-reading them back to us -- the tempo of this instructor's presentations was VERY slow. We finished 1.25 hours earlier than the published time, and there were 2-3 short breaks before lunch and 2-3 breaks after lunch.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Review of babysitting class I went to this class I believe in June of 2016 and I remember that is was a pretty good class but there was never any questions from the teacher asking to make sure we understood. Especially since we were learning about how to take care of someone else's baby! Otherwise it was a good class. I still remember a lot and I have quite a bit of "clients" since I took this class.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK The Red Cross can make some improvements. 1. Remind parents of details such as packing lunches. I remembered but am imagining others thinking of this detail at the last minute. 2. Confirm the correct end time. When I arrived, I was told the class would end 1 hour earlier. I had to shift schedules to make that work. 3. Perhaps set general agenda in advance. I thought my child would learn CPR but she didn't because she didn't weigh enough. However, my other child took this a few years ago at the same age/weight and she learned CPR. 4. Perhaps have a teacher that is a bit more engaging with kids. My daughter didn't feel a great connection and found the session to be more boring than informative. She is easily engaged in school - so the teacher makes all the difference. I would recommend but just because it is the only option I know of in town.
