First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor
This course will train instructor candidates to teach basic-level American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED courses. In order to participate in this course, you must possess a current basic-level American Red Cross Adult CPR/AED (or higher level) certification or equivalent and be at least 16 years of age on the last day of the instructor course. Upon registration, it is important that you review and follow the directions on the e-mail attachment sent with your registration confirmation. This is a blendedlearning course consisting of online content, a precourse skills session and classroom segments. Online material must be completed prior to attending the classroom activities. For more information, please reference the attachment you will receive via e-mail when you register for this course. Online + Classroom
This format is ideal for participants looking to maximize learning and productivity at the same time, its self-paced and the training can be completed at your own speed. The online and classroom training option provides greater convenience and the content is equivalent to a traditional course with less time spent in a classroom.
Online content is accessed via the Red Cross Learning Center.
Red Cross courses offer Digital Certification, an online version of a Red Cross certificate, which provides anytime, anywhere access to student training history and course certificates. Digital certificates can be viewed, printed or shared online and can be accessed anytime through your Red Cross Account. Each certificate includes a unique ID and a QR code which meets employment requirements and allows employers to easily confirm your certificate is valid. There is no need to carry your printed certificate around anymore!
The American Red Cross provides Continuing Education Units (CEUs) at no cost for certain classes taken by individuals who have requirements to maintain a professional license or certification.
The American Red Cross is an approved as an Accredited Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET).
Courses eligible for CEUs will have the CEUs awarded and contact hours printed on the lower, left hand corner of the 8½ X 11” digital certificate. Digital certificates may be accessed at www.redcross.org/take-a-class/digital-certificate.
Course participants should consult with their respective licensing/accrediting agencies to make sure IACET CEUs meet their continuing education requirements.
