Rated 4 out of 5 by from Course was great - Computer program sucked I loved the actual course. It provided a lot of helpful information and I thought it was very well organized. However, the submit button on the final exam does not work and takes forever to get fixed. The videos often glitched. The sound kept cutting out. So basically, you have to have general knowledge of how a computer works and a lot of time and patience.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Effective content I took the course on March 18 2016 from my work computer. The videos were brief and effective. I have to change some sort of setting (pop-up enabling or ActiveX control) to do the cursor moving demo activity, but luckily there was a coworker who figured that out for me so I was able to continue with the course. I did not get the prompt to call to request an injector. I was able to take notes on a chrono pad but wish there was a way to take notes on side of course that I could then save as a file or email to myself.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from your online site course content is a fail. i recommend my instructor Krisitin Bollick is awesome....i registered for a swim coaches safety training. However i dont recommend how this selection process works for courses. I think it is very convoluted, overly complicated and due to this I have to retake a CPR/first aid and repay for the cpr and first aid because it wasnt included in my safety training course. So not only did I waste an extra 2 hrs of my time doing the instructor training, but now I will have to waste another 2hrs and pay for it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lifeguard Instructor Course I recommend that if you take this course, take it with Streamline Health. Amy and Jason were very thorough and efficient. I learned a lot in the short time I was there. If you are interested in taking this type of course, make sure you take it from someone that won't let you walk about without feeling confident in what it is you are doing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved the Entire Presentation It becomes hard for me to focus at times when having to sit at a computer, especially to do training. Out of many training classes I have taken online, this kept me awake and interested the entire time. To others, it may seem childish regarding to how some of the questions were set up to be answered. Yet that was also apart of what made me love it so much. The presentation wasn't just click A, B, C or D. It made you drag and drop to the appropriate locations, making me repeat actions instead of just hearing about the action. This worked very well for my learning style.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good info but missing items I took this course a few months ago online. The information was detailed and informational. However, when I signed up for the course there was a note that said upon completion I would receive a free epi pen. I never received additional information on how to claim that item. Otherwise the course was fine

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 5 hour struggle I am required to take this course (job). 1. Could not find a way to 'bookmark' my progress & easily return ( where I left off); so, I was forced to repeat several segments. 2 Clicking on additional information links did not work & knocked me out of the course. 3 Could not print a copy of the final test - to complete on paper, before entering answers. 4 Could not find the supplemental resource book that helped in past years; I obtained a copy years ago for a WSI review course - a certification that I no longer hold because submitted records of classes taught were lost & the cost of frequently required updates have become prohibitively expensive. I have successfully passed this course numerous time (since I lost access to lifeguard training).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but... Good information but after I completed the course I couldn't access any of the documents that they offered as apart of the program. And the videos wouldn't load and it turns out that they an older form of coding that isn't recognized by newer newer computers and speed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very informative It is a great tool. Thanks red cross. I really used the tools to operate a lifeguard program in puerto rico

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Yuck I got through the entire course, including the final exam. On the last question, the website refused to let me submit the exam. It kicked me back to the very beginning of the course. There is no option to save my work and pick up where I left off. I had to call the Red Cross and be transferred through a number of people in order to get my issue resolved. And that took two days. The course was the exact same thing I took two years ago.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from safety training for swim coaches online I had to start the course 3 times in total, having almost finished it twice! The program did not save my progress. After experiencing this problem one time I called the Red Cross and was told to take a screen shot of my progress in the case that it happened again. Well it did happen again, and I sent my screen shot of my progress to the Red Cross Technical department and was told that I was given bad information. This class wasted at least 5 hours of my time. I believe the Red Cross should get its story straight on how to handle this situation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from lifeguard management It was a great course. It definitely brought me up to speed on how to be a better manager.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lifeguarding instructor Good class conducted well. Thought it was a little asinine that RC requires a paper copy of the manual in today’s age with tablets etc that you can digitally use the forms with in the books. I also find it odd that there are different rescues in the coaches course. Why would you just not change them all to standard uniform rescues. If a coach is going to assist a LG he would be attending different rescues. Also you could not download some of the materials from instructors corner. And I did like that there r three different RC websites.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good overview of next steps for LG's I took this course as part of my ongoing professional development. I have been an aquatics director in the past, and an LGI for years, but I felt it would be a good refresher to take this course online. It was a solid offering that was a good review.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Video Quality and Final Exam Problems The information in the video trainings was good information, but the quality of the videos was very poor. Tried on multiple different wifi locations that have no problem streaming other videos, but these red cross lifeguard management videos would not play the sound with the video, and the sound did nothing but skip so it was impossible to hear the information. The only thing that saved this from being a waste was the fact that you were able to read the information below the video.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Most of this is a waste of time This course is an insult to experienced coaches. This is the second time I have had to take this course. I have a degree in coaching and 16 years experience. I don't need to learn how to teach someone to dive. No matter your level of experience, everyone is subjected to the same beginning level of instruction. The scenarios are an insult to intelligence and make coaches look stupid. This class should be leveled based on experience and need. It's not very realistic either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great as Far as It Can Get ME I do really appreciate your class and wish that all personnel attending to children would be required to take this class. I am grandmother to a child with numerous, potentially lethal allergies. She is with me each afternoon while mom works. I have always been anxious about the identification for the need and the administration of the injector. The class was very helpful in filling out the details of the administration. It was also helpful in a general way in identifying the need for injection. It helps to be less anxious. However, assessing the need is not so black and white. There are so many times viruses - tummy upsets, etc. - or other non-lethal allergic reactions may be present that making the judgement call is challenging. Luckily, so far no injections have been needed. Again, thanks for the class.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy online training Overall, the course was great. The Course material was explained clearly and very easy to understand. My only problem was that the drag and drop testing feature did not work on multiple machines using multiple browsers. I ended up having to call and complete the course over the phone. Without the drag and drop issue, the course would have been super fast but instead it took a few days. Also, the epi pen offer did not work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Straightforward and Valuable This was my second time doing this course - I was due for a recertification. I don't remember if anything was different the first time around, but this time I was pleasantly surprised about how straightforward and streamlined the process was. Lots of valuable information, good quiz questions, etc. I particularly liked the "scenarios," as these help give a real-life example of the theoretical knowledge the course focuses on.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good course This was an informative course on the signs of anaphyalaxis and how to treat it with an auto-injector. One thing I didn't like was how some of the interactive portions worked. There was no notice at the beginning to turn off pop-ups and it was very frustrating to try to figure out why I couldn't complete certain interactive portions of the course. Other than that issue, the course was excellent; professional and accurate.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good course required to take this for registration, it's been almost 7 years since last renewed, and the course has been improved significantly. there are only two areas that i feel could use improvement. one, there are some poorly worded questions in the test, that end up testing your reading and test taking ability rather than if you know the information, and the other is trying to contact a live person in the Red Cross.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from overall a BAD expereince I am required to do STFSC through Red Cross for USA Swimming. I completed about 3/4 of the entire course and then had to be somewhere. With many other courses, you are free to come and go and take the class/course as your schedule allows. NOT this test. I had to start over and spend more hours taking a test that I had already all but completed. No help from Red Cross either. Get it right!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy course, but difficult website I liked the course, it was very easy to navigate and understand. There were review questions to double check clarity and understanding, which I liked and it gave you your PDF printable certificate immediately after finishing. However, it was difficult to find the course on the website after registering. The website needs to be more user friendly and updated.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good class I had to take this class for my swim coach's cert and I found it to be well written and easy to follow. Some of the quiz questions are taken from the additional resources, so one needs to look at those. Signing up for this class was not possible online - I had to call in, get transferred, have a password reset, etc. The class itself was straight forward.
Date published: 2017-12-05
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Technology was awful to use! Course itself was informative and relevant to my coaching position. My problem is with the technology. It is not able to be paused as it states, it is difficult to find the course, register for it and obtain the proper certification for it. I had to restart three times, and then had to email and eventually call about obtaining the correct certification.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cannot Even Access Class I am currently a swim coach and I purchased this class to renew my certification. I followed the instructions given on the USA swimming website as well as the multiple emails from the Red Cross and I still cannot access the class. I had to take the same class two years ago when I first started coaching and I had no issues whatsoever taking the class.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tons of relevant and interesting information The course was excellent, albeit very long if you read all the additional information (took me 4 hours). The scenarios were on point and relevant. Signing up for the course was not easy and assistance was required- more work is needed to make the signing up for classes more user friendly and to navigate on the Red Cross site.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Covered a lot I feel there was too much information covered all a one single sitting and it would be better for the learning to have it compartmentalized and tested separately. I want to be the best coach I can be and I don't feel I was able to comprehend all of the information because it was too extensive to digest at one sitting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Course with Great Resources This course was very well put together and informative to a novice like myself. The resources are invaluable to a start up program like ourselves.
