Sandra G. Carson is Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management and Compliance for Sysco Corporation (NYSE: SYY). In this role, she works closely with Sysco’s executive team and board of directors to integrate and leverage risk management practices into Sysco's overall business strategy and operations.
Sandra was responsible for creating Sysco’s Crisis Management program which follows FEMA’s National Incident Management System and uses the Incident Command System (ICS) model. She also leads Sysco’s emergency preparedness, and business continuity efforts.
Additionally she oversees the company’s, occupational health & safety, security/asset protection, and casualty insurance/claims management programs, for over 65,000 associates located in the US, Canada, Mexico, Bahamas, Central America and Europe.
Sandra holds a position on the Board of Directors with the American Red Cross Gulf Coast Chapter since 2016. She is a member of the Mission and Volunteer Committee, Co-chairs the Diversity Committee and Chairs the Tiffany Circle. She serves on other board/advisory council positions and provides assistance and expert testimony to help legislators and industry organizations make informed decisions in the areas of risk management.
As a registered nurse, board certified in Occupational Health and she received the State of Texas Achievement Award. She is a graduate of WFF Executive Leadership Program at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.
