The first Colorado-based chapter of the American Red Cross was chartered on Nov. 11, 1914. Today, there are four chapters in Colorado which is part of the Colorado & Wyoming Region. These chapters include: The Mile High Area, Northern Colorado, Western Colorado and Southeastern Colorado.
The American Red Cross is not a government agency. It relies on the donations of time, money and resources from individuals in the local community, corporate partners and like-minded foundations to do its work.

As CEO of the American Red Cross of Colorado & Wyoming, Andrea Miller oversees a humanitarian operation that alleviates suffering in the face of emergencies.
Prior to joining the Red Cross, Andrea served as director of environmental, social and governance at Delta Dental of Colorado, where she led initiatives that integrated sustainability, ethics and community impact into business strategy.
Andrea’s commitment to leadership and service in Colorado and Wyoming is reflected in her myriad of board and community service roles. She is currently chair of the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce; immediate past chair of B:CIVIC, an affiliate of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce; and a board member of Mile High United Way’s United for Business. She is a 2021 Leadership Denver graduate, a 2023–24 Colorado Governors Fellow and the proud recipient of the 2023 Brian Smith Award for Outstanding Community Leadership from Mile High United Way.
