The American Red Cross taught free swimming classes to local children at Piedmont Park through the 1930’s.

From Clara Barton’s single-handed crusade to help Civil War soldiers, to a nation-wide network of volunteers, the American Red Cross has never tired in its commitment to provide humanitarian disaster relief efforts to anyone in need.
