Patrick K. Kobayashi

Patrick K. Kobayashi is President and Chief Executive Officer of Kobayashi Group LLC (KG), in Honolulu, Hawaii. With more than 20 years of experience in the real estate industry, Mr. Kobayashi provides the fiscal management and marketing and sales direction for the company’s many projects. Mr. Kobayashi also manages the sales and leasing processes for KG developments, overseeing the sales teams of both residential and commercial projects.

Kobayashi Group has been active in residential and commercial development in Hawaii for many years. Its major residential and commercial projects include Kukio Golf & Beach Club on the Big Island; Kapolei Commons mall on Oahu and the Kona Commons mall on the Big Island; the Hokua, Capitol Place, and ONE Ala Moana, residential condominium projects on Oahu. Ongoing projects include the Park Lane Ala Moana and VIDA at 888 condominium projects, Hilton Garden Inn in Waikiki, King’s Village in Waikiki, and Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children’s (KMCWC) new building for neonatal and pediatric intensive care.

The firm has also developed affordable housing projects, including Napili Villas on Maui and Kapolei Kai on Oahu. Other public projects include Kapolei Middle School, Kapolei High School, Kapolei Civic Center, Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum Science Adventure Center, Queen’s Medical Center’s parking structure, University of Hawaii Cancer Center, and KMCWC parking structure.

Prior to joining Kobayashi Group, Mr. Kobayashi worked for the National Association of Home Builders in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Kobayashi was born and raised in Hawai’i, attended Hanahau’oli School and Mid-Pacific Institute (MPI), and graduated from Georgetown University with a degree in Business Administration. He is active in numerous community organizations and currently serves as Chair of the Hawai’i Red Cross Board of Trustees, and member of the Hawaii Fresh Water Council. He also serves on the Board of Trustees at MPI and is Chair of the school’s Development Committee. In the past, he served as Vice Chair for the Honolulu Liquor Commission, member of the Board of Directors of PBS Hawaii, MPI Alumni Association President and Board of Counselors member, and, was a member-at-large for the Hawaii Agra Business Development Corporation.

Mr. Kobayashi is the Chair of the American Red Cross of Hawaii Board of Directors for his first term. He is the Principal and CEO of Kobayashi Group, LLC. Mr. Kobayashi has served on the Hawaii Red Cross board since 2002 and has served on the Nominating Committee and Executive Committees. He is a past Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer.

Coralie Chun Matayoshi

Coralie Chun Matayoshi has served as the CEO of the American Red Cross, Hawaii State Chapter since 2003. In 2013, her Regional responsibilities expanded to include Guam and Saipan. She is an attorney who previously served as Executive Director of the Hawaii State Bar Association for 13 years. She is a graduate of Punahou School and earned a political science degree, magna cum laude, from the University of California, Berkeley. She received her juris doctor degree from Hastings College of the Law in 1981.

Matayoshi has served as a Trial Attorney for the United States Department of Justice Antitrust Division and Special Assistant United States Attorney in Washington D.C., worked for several years in private practice, served as Chief Policy Analyst for the State Senate Committee on Business Development & Pacific Relations, and as Executive Director of the Hawaii Institute for Continuing Legal Education.

In 2010, she was named by the Pacific Business News as Businesswoman of the Year (nonprofit) and has won numerous awards from the U.S. Department of Justice, Hawaii State Bar Association, and Hawaii Visitors Bureau. She currently serves on the University of Hawaii Board of Regents and Diamond Head Theater Community Advisory Board. Matayoshi has also served on numerous community boards and committees, including the Hastings College of the Law Alumni Board of Governors, Aloha United Way Campaign and Nominating Committees, FOX TV-2 Action Line Advisory Board, American Bar Association Committee on Justice Initiatives, Hawaii Commission on Access to Justice, Neighborhood Justice Center Board, editorial board and columnist for the Hawaii Bar Journal, and is the author of a chapter on "Women & Jobs" in a book entitled Price of Paradise.

Matayoshi is a former 1976 Narcissus Queen and mother of three.
