KALAMAZOO, MI (May 8, 2024) – The American Red Cross opened an emergency shelter on Tuesday for residents displaced by the tornado that struck the city of Portage.
The shelter is located at the First Assembly of God, 5550 Oakland Drive. Residents who were sheltering at First Radiant Church have now moved to the Red Cross shelter at First Assembly of God.
The shelter is open to anyone in need following the storms that swept across Southwest Michigan.
Residents impacted by the storms may call 1-800-RED CROSS for assistance.
