Who’s your Hero? The American Red Cross is looking for local heroes. Do you know someone who has performed an extraordinary act of courage? Or someone who has dedicated countless hours to a special cause? The Red Cross wants to honor and celebrate these individuals during local community heroes events.
If your hero is 18 or older, nominate them by filling out the online form below. You can also submit your nomination by downloading the nominations form and telling us why the person you have nominated is a hero. You can mail the form to Briana Laymon: 2912 S. 80th Ave, Omaha, NE 68124
Award decisions are based on the information you provide, so be detailed and include as much supporting material as possible.
Upcoming Heroes Events:
An individual who, by the way they live their life, is considered an inspiring example to others. This individual has either overcome tremendous hardship and risen above their challenges or spent much of their time devoted to service to others.
An individual who in the line of duty (police, fire, military, medical, etc.) went above and beyond the call of duty.
An individual who is considered a hero because of their unselfish devotion and concern for the welfare of others.
An individual or organization who has served an important role in disaster relief in our community.
Commitment to Community
An individual, couple, group or organization that has made a tremendous impact on the community through their volunteerism, philanthropy, service to others, or by example.
Call to Action
An individual who, by circumstances beyond their control, found themselves in a challenging situation and demonstrated extraordinary courage.
Gift of Life
An individual or group that supports the lifesaving mission through personal blood or platelet donations or inspiring other to give blood or platelets.
