Welcome to the New Hampshire & Vermont Region

The American Red Cross of New Hampshire & Vermont serves all residents in both states - a population of more than 1.9 million people. We cover 24 counties and 18,973 square miles, the region operates with the support of a small group of paid staff and more than 1,100 dedicated volunteers.

Last Fiscal Year NH/VT:

Responding to Emergencies
  • Every 17 hours, on average, we assisted a local family
  • 1,134 people received disaster assistance

Increasing Health, Safety and Community Disaster Preparedness
  • Every day, approximately 87 people were trained in first aid, CPR, and water safety skills
  • 31,865 people were trained for the year

Serving the Armed Forces and Military Families in Emergencies
  • Every 11 hours, on average, a military family was helped via Red Cross communications
  • There were 769 requests connecting military members and their families last year

Connecting Families Around the World
  • In NH/VT, 13 families who were separated from their families by war or conflict were reconnected

Blood Services Collections
  • Collected 91,075 units of blood 65,728 people donated life-saving blood
  • All 40 hospitals in NH and VT depend on Red Cross collections

Preparedness Programs
  • Home Fire Campaign – Red Cross and community partners installed 2,871 smoke alarms
  • Pillowcase Project – An in-school preparedness program for kids grades 3-5 taught 2,619 kids about disaster preparedness
