A Volunteer Board and paid management team of officers and program directors provide leadership for carrying out the work of the American Red Cross Greater New York Region. Josh Lockwood serves as Regional Chief Executive Officer, guiding and directing the entire region, which consists of the American Red Cross in Greater New York (NYC), Long Island and Metro New York chapters.

Josh Lockwood, CEO, Greater New York Region

Josh Lockwood started with the American Red Cross in May 2012 overseeing Red Cross services in the Greater New York Region: : New York City, Long Island, the Lower Hudson Valley, Westchester County, and Greenwich, Conn. With more than 13 million residents and averaging nearly 2,500 local disasters each year, it is the busiest region in the Red Cross.

Lockwood comes from a six year tenure at Habitat NYC. The nonprofit was recognized by the New York Times Non‐Profit Excellence Awards, the US Green Building Council, Avenue Magazine, the New York State Association for Affordable Housing, and Affordable Housing Finance Magazine. Lockwood was also named by Crain’s New York as one of its “40 Under 40” rising stars in 2010.

Prior to joining Habitat-NYC, Lockwood was a principal at the management and real estate consulting firm of HR&A Advisors. He has received a bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan University and a master’s Degree from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University.

Susan Rounds joined the Greater New York Region’s management team in July 2012. As Chief Operating Officer she oversees service delivery of mission programs across the region in addition to operational back office support functions. She brings to this role a solid background in non-profit management and 30 years of experience working in management at both the chapter and national levels of the American Red Cross.

Mary Young, CEO, Metro New York North Chapter

Mary Young joined the Red Cross in March 2011 as CEO of the Metro New York North chapter. Young’s outstanding skills in management, operations and development allow her to successfully guide the Metro New York North chapter in all aspects of its programs and services, from disaster relief to fundraising to emergency preparedness for the more than 1.8 million residents of Metro NY North. Prior to the Red Cross, Young served as VP for Institutional Advancement at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn. Prior to that, she was Director of Academic Services for the Connecticut Student Loan Foundation. In 2012, Young was the recipient of the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce R. Michael Dunne Quality of Life Award.
