Locations:

Philadelphia Spring Garden Street Blood Donor Center, Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter.

Purpose:

Primarily transport blood to area hospitals in Philadelphia or New Jersey.

Key Responsibilities:
  • May occasionally transport blood from blood collection sites to the laboratory for processing or transport supplies to blood drives or fixed sites
  • Pick up and return empty boxes as needed
  • Complete required paperwork and obtain signatures
  • Communicate and share feedback between Red Cross personnel and customers
  • Drive in a safe and responsible manner
  • Time Commitment:
  • Variable; preferred commitment: 2 4-hour shifts/month
  • Qualifications:
  • Willingness to support Red Cross Mission
  • Valid state driver’s license – 3 years driving experience
  • Clean driving record, at least one year
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
  • Training:
  • Orientation to American Red Cross
  • Defensive Driving course provided by American Red Cross
  • Transportation Specialist Training
  • On the job training
