Abraham Tarwoe was born in Liberia, but political turmoil there led him to flee the country in 1998, at the age of 12. He came to the U.S., staying with relatives in Providence. Tarwoe moved to Newark, New Jersey, where he lived with relatives while attending high school. He was an accomplished athlete who played football for Westside High School. Read more...
