Smoke alarms save lives.
Elizabeth and Roy Pruett, Disaster Action Team volunteers from Mercer County responded to a fire on September 6, 2016 in Princeton to help meet the family’s immediate needs. The six people sleeping in the home that night including a veteran with quadriplegia were awakened when a smoke alarm sounded. The smoke alarms in the home were installed in May 2016 as part of the Red Cross Home Fire Campaign by the Oakvale Fire Department and Red Cross volunteer Bow Baker.
