A native of Illinois, Candy has a thirty-five year professional career with the American Red Cross. Her career started with the American Red Cross in Chicago. She moved on to various assignments in Nebraska, Louisiana, Virginia and Washington, D.C. In August 1993, she became the executive director of the American Red Cross of Greater Arkansas.
In addition to her dedication to those served by Red Cross, Candy as she’s known by friends, is a Paul Harris Fellow, member of the Rotary Club of Little Rock and a founding board member of the Arkansas Nonprofit Alliance.
A graduate of Drake University, Candy also earned her Certificate for Partners in Organizational Leadership from Harvard University, Kennedy School of Government, Cambridge, MA.
The Chapter serves the residents of Arkansas, Ashley, Bradley, Calhoun, Clark, Cleburne, Cleveland, Columbia, Conway, Dallas, Desha, Drew, Chicot, Faulkner, Garland, Grant, Hempstead, Hot Spring, Howard, Independence, Jefferson, Lafayette, Lee, Lincoln, Lonoke, Miller, Monroe, Montgomery, Nevada, Ouachita, Perry, Phillips, Pike, Polk, Prairie, Pulaski, Saline, Sevier, St. Francis, Union, Van Buren, White and Woodruff counties.
