This role involved the design and maintenance of the communications systems supporting the Red Cross responses, including cell phones, pagers, two-way radios, radio repeaters, and antenna systems at both remote and local sites. Dave designed and setup the first UHF repeater system in the region as well as a cross-band radio system in partnership with Massport.

With the 2010 changes to the Red Cross structure, Dave has migrated to the position of Disaster Support Technology (DST) Lead. In that role Dave implemented a Web-based, automated volunteer call-down application at no cost to the chapter. This application automatically notifies volunteers and collects their status in response to disasters where a rapid deployment is required. Previously, this was done manually, one call at a time.
