Mississippi Tornado Information and Response
In response to the tornadoes to date, 517 Red Cross disaster workers and 15 Emergency Response Vehicles have helped to:
Carlos Miles has been a long time resident of Hattiesburg. His home was completely destroyed on Magnolia Street in Hattiesburg, MS. The Red Cross volunteers have been providing meals and snacks to residents in his area.
Red Cross disaster teams have been working around the clock since the first tornadoes touched down in Mississippi early Saturday morning.
Hal Knights and Anna Michelle Morgan signed up to be Red Cross volunteers when they heard the community needed their help. They were processed and trained by Red Cross volunteers.
Nita Ramirez lived on Edwards Street in Hattiesburg, MS. She lived in a mobile home community that was completely destroyed and her neighbor was one of the fatalities. Because her home suffered significant damage, she has been a shelter resident since Saturday.
