About the Adirondack-Saratoga Chapter:

The American Red Cross Adirondack Saratoga Chapter is dedicated to helping save lives and helping people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies with 520 dedicated volunteers serving a population of 362,174 people.

Led by a volunteer Board of Directors, the local Red Cross is supported by community donations and provides services to Warren, Washington, Saratoga, Hamilton and southern Essex Counties.

In the last year, the Adirondack Saratoga Chapter of the American Red Cross:

Responded to 54 local disasters, primarily house fires, affecting nearly 97 families. When disasters happen, we respond immediately with a safe place to sleep, aid for food, replacement medications and clothing, crisis counseling and a shoulder to lean on for support

Trained 7,964 people to save lives through CPR, first aid, water safety, use of automated external defibrillators, childcare, pet first aid, care giving and more.

Prepared 404 individuals for disasters through our free education initiative, Be Red Cross Ready. Through this program, the Red Cross teaches individuals, families and organizations basic steps to prepare for emergencies.

Assisted the NY-Penn Blood Region in the collection of 81,854 units of blood for use at hospitals throughout our region.

Connected 189 local military families during critical life moments, such as birth and deaths.
