Contributions support the efforts of the Nepal Red Cross, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), and related response activities, including certain direct operational costs incurred by the American Red Cross. Funds are directed to the areas of greatest need, which may include emergency shelter, relief supplies, health services, clean water, cash assistance, and longer-term recovery support. The American Red Cross works closely with the Nepal Red Cross and the IFRC to help ensure resources are used responsibly and where they can have the greatest impact for affected communities.
