Hurricane Irma Relief Information

We are part of a large team of partners who have launched a massive relief response to provide safe shelter, food and comfort to people who have been affected by Hurricane Irma.

More than four weeks after Hurricane Irma devastated parts of Florida, the American Red Cross and a large team of partners continue to provide shelter, food and comfort to people whose lives have been turned upside down.
  • We are shifting our services to meet the changing needs on the ground – as shelter populations decrease, federal and state programs support more short-term housing solutions, and people look to establish a semblance of normalcy in their lives
  • We're helping people create recovery plans and connect people with the services and resources they need
  • For those who do not qualify for financial assistance, Red Cross caseworkers can help to create recovery plans and locate assistance from other agencies and community partners
  • With your support, we are working around the clock to get help where it is needed most.

Since October 13, together we have:

For many people who were affected by Hurricane Irma, it is going to be a long recovery...look out for each other and be kind to those you come across. They may have suffered tremendous loss and your smile, kind words or shoulder to cry on may be exactly what they need to begin their recovery.
