The local Red Cross is more than 98% led by volunteers. We rely on their compassion and dedication to provide relief, hope, and comfort to Central California residents throughout the region. Every task, every volunteer hour given, is critical to the success of the local Red Cross. Every day across your community the need for these services is great. Whether you can help four hours a month or 40 hours a week, there is a home for you in the Red Cross.
Give relief. Disaster responders are always a critical need, responding to everything from home fires to major events like earthquakes or wildfires on a regular basis. We rely on the compassion of disaster volunteers to provide this relief.
Lead by example. The local Red Cross is also looking for professional leadership volunteers to aid in strategic initiatives, career development, priorities management, and goal setting. If you have a strong background in these fields and would like to put your skills to work for your community, the Red Cross offers excellent opportunities for mentoring and leadership.
Learn and grow. Children as young as 13 are encouraged to join the Red Cross as a volunteer as a way to gain unique life experience and skills. Youth Red Crossers play a critical role in the organization as we develop the next generation of compassionate volunteers dedicated to serving their community for the next 100 years.
Offer hope. There are many other opportunities to hone your skills and gain new experiences as a volunteer. Whether it’s supporting our communications team by telling the Red Cross story, helping connect military families in times of emergency, or supporting operational needs at the local office, there’s a way to utilize your interests and talents.
