Tiandra, a native Northern Nevadan, joined the American Red Cross in 2023 with a background in philanthropy and public preparedness. A fourth-generation Northern Nevadan, Rushing is dedicated to serving her community, overseeing the delivery of Red Cross programs and services to residents across 12 counties and Carson City.
Her intimate knowledge of Northern Nevada and its residents guides her efforts to position the strengths of the community to becoming opportunities to better the lives of the residents. Currently, she volunteers as the Foundation Chair for the Nevada Builders Alliance, continuing her commitment to community development and progress.
Before her appointment, Rushing served as the Public Health Preparedness Manager for the Central Nevada Health District, where she was responsible for establishing and maintaining readiness plans to recover from public health consequences of disasters and emergencies. In addition to this, Rushing has also held key roles at Carson Tahoe Health as a Development Professional, and at Western Nevada College as an Associate Director of Development and Communications. In both these positions, she directed, managed and led philanthropy and fundraising efforts.
