Bruce Berwager
Bruce Berwager joined American Red Cross of Northern Nevada Board of Directors in 2022 and was named Board Chair in 2024, continuing his lifelong involvement with the Red Cross. He previously served on the Board of Directors for the Hanover, PA, and Santa Barbara, CA, chapters of the Red Cross and has volunteered in Red Cross Water Safety Programs, Services to Armed Services, Disaster Cycle Services, Disaster Action Team, and high school Red Cross Club.
Before retiring in 2019, Bruce had a 40-year career in engineering and management in the oil and gas industry, which allowed him to live and work in numerous international locations, including Norway, Dubai, Indonesia, Thailand, and Canada. He has a bachelor’s in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering from Penn State University and a master’s in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Southern California. His unwavering support of the Red Cross mission reflects his deep conviction in its importance.
Sarah Stevenson
Sarah Stevenson joined the American Red Cross of Northern Nevada Board of Directors in 2023 and became Vice Chair in 2025. Since 2022, she has served as a Disaster Action Team member in Elko County, delivering essential support during times of crisis.
Outside of her involvement with the Red Cross, Sarah volunteers with Junior Achievement and the Elko County Chamber Ambassadors.
Professionally, Sarah is the Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager at Nevada State Bank in Spring Creek. A graduate of the Nevada State Bank Mentor Program, she shares her expertise by mentoring and training her colleagues.
Sarah’s contributions through both her professional and volunteer roles highlight her dedication to serving her community.
In her professional life, Sarah holds the position of Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager at the Nevada State Bank in Spring Creek. A graduate of the Nevada State Bank Mentor Program, she uses her experience to guide her colleagues, serving both as a mentor and a peer trainer. Sarah's dedication to her community, both in her professional role and through her volunteer work, reflects her commitment to making a positive impact.
