Southern Nevada Chapter Board of Directors
The Boards of Directors with their combined diverse experiences are critical to assisting with strategic planning and fundraising to support the Chapters' humanitarian mission and services.
Thomas Cardin
Thomas Cardin joined the American Red Cross of Southern Nevada Chapter Board of Directors in 2019 as an opportunity to give back to the community and create positive change. He was appointed Chair in 2022.
Thomas is the Director of Gas Operations at the Southwest Gas Corporation in Las Vegas. He has championed the Red Cross at Southwest Gas leading employees to volunteer for Red Cross campaigns such as Sound the Alarm events. He holds a bachelor's degree and master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and an MBA from Colorado State University.
Michael Feder
Michael Feder joined the American Red Cross of Southern Nevada Board of Directors more than 10 years ago and is currently the Vice Chair and Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Michael believes in giving back to the community and helping others, especially those in underserved communities. Michael also volunteers and serves on the Board of Trustees for the Vegas Chamber and on the Board of After-School All-Stars Las Vegas.
Michael is a member/partner at the law firm of Dickinson Wright PLLC and has experience representing and counseling clients in commercial and business litigation, appellate advocacy, bankruptcy, gaming, regulatory and transactional related matters. He has a bachelor’s from New York University and a law degree from Temple University.
Christine Zalonka
Christine Zalonka joined the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross of Southern Nevada Chapter in 2020 and currently serves as the Board Secretary. She is also an active member of the Biomedical Committee. While Christine has consistently engaged in community service through her employer, her involvement with the Red Cross has provided her with additional opportunities to support the Las Vegas community.
Christine is with Raymond James & Associates, where she is responsible for expanding the Raymond James Wealth Management presence in Nevada and Utah, as well as overseeing compliance and operations. Before joining Raymond James, Christine spent over two decades in the financial services industry with Wells Fargo Advisors, where she was also instrumental in promoting blood drives and other volunteer initiatives. Originally from the Midwest, Christine relocated to Las Vegas in 2011. She holds a bachelor's degree in Finance from Iowa State University and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Drake University.
Jonathan Arnold
Russell Arnold
Russ Arnold joined the American Red Cross of Southern Nevada Chapter Board of Directors in 2022 to expand his efforts to help those in need and underserved communities. He hopes to encourage others to volunteer and help promote the caring mission of the American Red Cross.
Russ is a residential and commercial Realtor with The Agency Las Vegas. He takes great pride in helping Nevada families and businesses achieve their goals in real estate and applies the same pride and work ethic to his efforts in the community. Russ, originally from Champaign, IL, has called Las Vegas home since 2001.
Roxanne Burke
Roxanne Burke became a member of the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross of Southern Nevada in 2023, serving on the Mission Committee. For many years, Roxanne has shown her dedication to the Red Cross and the local community through regular blood donations and active participation in community outreach events.
In addition to her work with the Red Cross, Roxanne volunteers with several other organizations within the Las Vegas community, providing much-needed services and assistance to those in need.
Roxanne currently is the Southwest Regional Director for Law Enforcement Against Drugs & Violence (L.E.A.D.), a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting our kids and communities from drugs, drug-related crime, peer/cyber bullying and violence. Prior to joining L.E.A.D., she had an impressive 28-year career with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, retiring with the rank of Captain. Throughout her tenure, she led various units within the department and concluded her career by leading a bureau focused on community outreach and partnerships.

Dr. Mark Glyman
Dr. Mark Glyman joined the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross of Southern Nevada Chapter in 2024, bringing over 30 years of medical expertise to guide the chapter's direction. As a member of the Board's Biomedical Committee, he is dedicated to raising awareness about the urgent need for blood donations, ensuring that lifesaving blood is available whenever patients require it.
In 1992, Dr. Glyman founded the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Associates of Nevada in Las Vegas. He specializes in reconstructive facial surgery, facial trauma surgery, surgery of the mouth, head, neck, and jaw, as well as facial plastic surgery, including procedures for cleft lip and cleft palate.
Dr. Glyman earned his undergraduate degree in biochemistry and his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of California, Los Angeles. He went on to receive his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in Boston and completed his residency in both general surgery and maxillofacial surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Chad Kaercher
Chad Kaercher, a third-generation Las Vegan, joined the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross Southern Nevada Chapter in 2020. He plays a vital role on the Board’s Biomedical Committee, promoting blood donation and emphasizing the need for more donors. Growing up in a family dedicated to community service and philanthropy, Chad is deeply committed to making a positive local impact.
Professionally, Chad serves as an Associate Vice President and Corporate Strategy Risk Advisor at Marsh McLennan Agency. He is actively involved in the community, volunteering for numerous causes, including the Red Cross. Chad is on the Advisory Council for Vegas Young Professionals and holds positions on the Board of Directors for Lutheran Social Services of Nevada. Additionally, he participates in the Young Philanthropist Society of United Way and the Miracle Flights Swings for Wings Committee.
Chad holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Colorado in Boulder and was part of the Vegas Chamber’s Leadership Las Vegas class in 2024.
Joseph LePore
Janet Ravin
Since joining the American Red Cross of Southern Nevada Chapter Board of Directors in 2021, Janet Ravin serves as both the Committee Chair of the philanthropy division and on the Executive/Board Development Committee. Her deep appreciation for the Red Cross’s global mission to support humankind and her personal passion for community wellness and progress continues to motivate her in this role. She previously served as the Board’s Secretary.
Janet is the Vice President of Global Communications, Culture and Experience at Rimini Street, Inc. (NASDAQ: RMNI), and is the founder and Committee Chair of the Rimini Street Foundation, a privately funded charitable program of Rimini Street, Inc. and its global subsidiaries, whose impact spans across 6 continents and has provided millions of dollars in financial contributions and in-kind donations, and thousands of volunteer hours supporting hundreds of charities. She is a graduate of the civil engineering technology program at Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology in Toronto, Canada.
Edgar Rodriguez
Edgar Rodriguez joined the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross of Southern Nevada Chapter in 2024, reinforcing his dedication to community service. His transition from military service to active community involvement underscores his commitment to making a meaningful impact. The humanitarian efforts of the Red Cross resonate deeply with Edgar's passion for helping others.
In 2022, Edgar founded Master The Network, a business and executive coaching firm. His enlistment in the U.S. Marines after the 9/11 terrorist attacks laid the foundation for his desire to empower others, using his military experience to help individuals build stronger businesses. Edgar's diverse experiences continue to align with the mission of the Red Cross, highlighting his ongoing dedication to community and service.
Diane Orgill
Diane Orgill joined the Red Cross of Southern Nevada Board of Directors in 2022 to continue her efforts to bring the Red Cross mission to the community. She has been a Red Cross volunteer for 17 years and is now the Community Volunteer Leader for the Red Cross Utah/Nevada Region Disaster Services. Diane continues to work with the Disaster Action Team in Southern Nevada to respond to those in need following a disaster, both large and small.
Diane was a teacher for 23 years in the Clark County School District and taught classes at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and the College of Southern Nevada. She has a bachelor’s from Southern Illinois University and a master’s from Northern Arizona University.
Samuel Scheller
Samuel Scheller joined the American Red Cross of Southern Nevada Chapter Board of Directors in 2021 and is a member of the Biomedical Committee. Samuel embraces the Red Cross mission of preparing the community for emergencies and wants to encourage the community to give blood and take lifesaving training classes like CPR.
Samuel is the Chief Executive Officer of Guardian Elite Medical Services, which provides 911 and interfacility ambulance response, special event medical coverage, and EMS training throughout Las Vegas and Nevada. He has an associate’s degree in Paramedic Medicine from the College of Southern Nevada, a bachelor’s degree in Emergency Medical Services from the University of New Mexico, and a master’s of business administration from American Public University.
Stan Smith
Stan Smith joined the American Red Cross of Southern Nevada Board of Directors in 2012 and was the Board Chair in 2021-2022. He continues to support Red Cross efforts and events in Southern Nevada and throughout the country. He was named Board Member of the year for the Red Cross of Southern Nevada in 2021.
Stan is the Vice President of Emergency Management and General Services for Boyd Gaming Corporation. He started his career with Boyd gaming in 1984 as a security officer. Stan also volunteers his time with the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Boulder City playing Santa Claus on the Santa Train during the holidays.
Bryant Thornton
Bryant Thornton joined the board in 2021 and has been a leader on the Diversity and Inclusion committee. He is committed to serving his community by volunteering and serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Las Vegas Economic Alliance, the Board of Trustees with the Vegas Chamber, and a member of the Volunteer Law Enforcement Alliance.
Bryant is the Market Vice President for Republic Services in Las Vegas responsible for driving daily business operations, developing future talent and creating a more sustainable environment in Southern Nevada. He has a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.
Tyler Corder
Tyler Corder served on the American Red Cross Southern Nevada Chapter Board of Directors from 2015 to 2019. He was the board chair from 2016 to 2019. He continues to support the American Red Cross and the Southern Nevada Chapter as an Emeritus board member.
Tyler is the CFO/COO of the Findlay Automotive Group. He previously served as board president for both Safe Nest and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Southern Nevada. He currently serves on the board of the Foundation for an Independent Tomorrow and the Vegas Chamber.
Clark Dumont
Clark Dumont was a Red Cross Southern Nevada board member for more than a decade and chair in 2020. He continues to support the chapter and the American Red Cross as an Emeritus Board Member.
Clark is a FORTUNE 500 C-level communicator, and Principal & Founder of Dumont Communications, LLC where he focuses on strategic organizational reputation and relationships for organizations, and the people in them. He is active in the community having served on the boards of Southern Nevada Public Television and the Neon Museum. He is also the president of Public Relations Society of America Las Vegas Valley Chapter.
John Steinbeck
Clark County Fire Chief John C. Steinbeck has spent his career in public service and continues to give back the community. He served on the American Red Cross Southern Nevada Chapter Board of Directors from 2018 to 2024. Chief Steinbeck continues to actively support the American Red Cross and the Southern Nevada Chapter as an Emeritus Board Member.
He was appointed as Clark County Fire Chief in 2020 and has been a part of the department since 1990. Chief Steinbeck joined Southern Nevada's FEMA Urban Search and Rescue team in 1993, where he has participated in deployments to significant locations such as New York City post-9/11 and New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. Additionally, he fulfills the role of a structural collapse technician instructor for FEMA and serves as a board member of Nevada Child Seekers.
