The Nevada Region of the American Red Cross began serving Nevada in June of 1917. Today the region continues to support the following communities throughout the state: Boulder City, Carson, Churchill, Douglas, Elko, Esmerelda County, Eureka, Good Springs, Henderson, Humboldt, Indian Springs, Lander County, Las Vegas, Laughlin, Lincoln, Logandale, Lyon, Mesquite, Mineral, Moapa, North Las Vegas, Nye, Pershing County, Overton, Sandy Valley, Storey County, Washoe County, and White Pine County.
Across the nation, local American Red Cross chapters are there to help prevent, prepare, and respond to life-threatening emergencies. Here in Nevada the Red Cross provides important services in the following areas:
- Disaster Services – providing emergency assistance, and comfort, to those affected by disasters
- Be Red Cross Ready – supporting disaster and emergency preparedness
- Service to the Armed Forces – providing needed supports to the men and women serving in our armed forces, and their immediate families.
- International Services – Reconnecting Families – providing tracing, message delivery, and other international services, to families impacted by wars, civil disturbances, and natural disasters
