2013 Red Cross Gala raises $1.3 Million to Support Local Disaster

Bay Area Red Cross Hope by Design 2013
More than 800 members of the Bay Area philanthropic and corporate community celebrated the American Red Cross.

On April 6, the Concourse Exhibition Center in San Francisco’s design district was transformed into a stunning sea of red during the 2013 Red Cross Gala – ‘Hope by Design,’ hosted by the American Red Cross Bay Area Chapter. This year’s theme reflected the fact that due to the American Red Cross when disaster strikes, we will have hope, not by accident, but by design.

Exquisite tablescapes were created exclusively for the event by 26 Bay Area designers that drew on this theme. The annual gala benefits the local Red Cross disaster readiness and response efforts that spread hope in the local community. The evening was presented by Dignity Health, Wells Fargo Bank, and Kaiser Permanente. Guests experienced a spectacular musical performance by eight-time Grammy award-winning R&B icon Gladys Knight, underwritten by Dignity Health and McKesson.
